In 1996, I was a newcomer to the Faculty of Medicine, just like you. I entered the faculty campus for the first time to ask about the same things every freshman asks about. Feeling completely puzzled, I started to realize I had to make a good exploration of this new community and merge myself into my new environment. Next, I took a step further and started to prepare myself to enter the Students Union elections. Being a member of the SU, I had to find things ahead and understand the happenings around me to have the opportunity to tell my colleagues correct information. Well now, after more than three years have passed, I think I've managed to survive. The most important thing I realized was that medical education is a LONG trip, probably ending in the famous 5 'ein' :), if you're going to take it, prepare yourself to take the burden and the responsibility on your shoulders. You should acquire the determination and the love for science and knowledge as these are the keys to success around here.
Good Luck and welcome to Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine..
