Is it Required?

Yes!
It is required to enter the Biochemistry and Physiology Labs, it is also required to enter the morgue, although strictness about a white coat fades by the end of the year, chances are that you will miss sections if you don't have your coat.

Above all, you MUST remember to get it along when you have a practical exam.

Where to buy?

There are many choices available in the market, ranging from as low as L.E. 25 and up to 80 L.E. You can buy it from the Gomhoreya Company kiosk in campus or other medical equipment stores in the nearby streets (see stethoscope).

Another place which I personally purchase my coats from is 'Mohamed Sayed' store in Korba, in front of Chantilly. (this is not a paid ad. :)

Recommendation

You'd better buy 2 coats. One light coat for summer, and another heavy one which is slightly larger so you can wear it on top of heavy clothes in winter.
